Biography

Mr. Michael P. Rodriguez is an Adjunct Professor of Global Public Health in the Department of Global and Community Health. Rodriguez’s research interests range from incentives for improving the use of data for decision making in public health to the impact of new technologies on the quality of patient care. He has extensive expertise in the evaluation and implementation of health information systems strengthening activities having worked in more than 25 countries around the world from the clinical level to the national and international levels. Prior to joining the GMU faculty, Rodriguez was resident in the Republic of Fiji where he was working with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to improve their capacity to screen and track patients for cardiovascular risk, breast and cervical cancers and childhood immunizations. Rodriguez has previously worked with international NGOs, US public health departments and with the US Agency for International Development as a Global Health Fellow.
